Model stitched by Jennifer Lloyd

From the dawn of time, man has used dyes to adorn his skin, either by tattooing or body painting. The Celts were no exception, using woad, to paint designs on their skin. It isn't known if they did this to beautify themselves or to terrify their foes in battle. This sampler takes its inspiration from that tradition, using shades of blue and gold to create a design any Celt would have been proud of. It is stitched in cross stitch and speciality stitch, and is complimented by a companion piece - Celtic Beauty, which is stitched in cross stitch only. Whether you choose to stitch both, or choose just one, your home will be adorned in a beautiful Celtic fashion.
